WHAT IS THE CHARLES BANKS SALVER?

The Charles Banks Salver, started in 2018, is a new and exciting summer season-long Order of Merit competition, integrating a PGA Tour Fedex Cup type points system into designated SWGC gents individual competitions throughout the summer qualifying season.

Inspired by the Fedex Cup/Race to Dubai, and named after the well respected & long-serving SWGC member who has represented SWGC both nationally and internationally, the Charles Banks Salver has been designed to further increase entries in competitions but more importantly to add further value to the membership of SWGC.

The ‘Top 40’ positions in the Order of Merit will qualify for the Charles Banks Salver Top 40 Playoff at the end of the season at SWGC.

The ‘Top 9’ positions from the Charles Banks Salver Top 40 Playoff will join the top three automatic qualifiers in the Order of Merit Table, to battle it out for the title at one of the rota venues, this year being a Top 10 Course in Britain & Ireland, Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin).

More importantly, all twelve finalists will have their round at Woodhall Spa (Hotchkin) paid for, a wonderful incentive to do well in the Charles Banks Salver. Members are welcome to go and support the finalists, to see who takes the 2019 title.

Complementing SWGC near century-old competitions, the Charles Banks Salver has been carefully adapted and designed to fit alongside and not affect in anyway, the current SWGC competition structure. >
